In the meantime, Democratic Party mouthpieces in the blogozone are going into full-tilt pants-crapping panic mode, with Robert Parry at consortiumnews.com spewing a page full of the most weak-assed, warmed-over, shopworn scaremongering and excuse-making possible, complete with that good old Nader Hate. Trouble is, in the course of trying to make a case of supporting the Democrats no matter what, he makes a case for staying home — or even voting Republican, seeing as how even with the Democrats in power, we’re still being saddled with Republican policies which, more often than not, are being enabled by the Democrats. Parry might as well have cut’n'pasted an old column from 2000, begging and pleading with us not to vote Green in response to the cowardice and hypocrisy of the Clinton Regime, threatening us with calamity and disaster, guilt-tripping us with that tired old bullshit about how “a vote for Nader is a vote for Bush”. Hell, even the Communist Party USA is getting in on the action, with Comrade Chairman Sam Webb posting a whiny-assed screed pleading with us to not sit this one out. Jeezus, who’d have thought that even the geezing old cranks at the CPUSA were fronting for the Democrats these days?I removed the Consortium News link because I don't link to The Bitch Robert Parry. I loathe him. C.I. could do a takedown on his lazy ass that would end once and for all on Parry. Instead, she just ignores his paranoid and crazy ass. (C.I. was very tight with some woman named Sarah who was a big fish in DC until her death. She used to have Robert over all the time back then -- the 80s, I think. And Robert's a raving nut. C.I. knows just how much from Sarah and could really do an outing but choose to be kind and stay focused on real issues.)
Now moving over to Dick of the Week: Tom Gjleten. The little piece of sniveling s**t who laughs at callers everytime he's on The Diane Rehm Show (accents are funny to Tom) has a 'report' on leaks but it's really existing solely to trash Julian Assange. As Ava and C.I. pointed out, he filed on Friday and all he could do was yammer on and on about the Pentagon. He's a mouth piece for the Pentagon. He's a smear merchant and people would do well to pay attention to who covers for War Hawks.
BBC News reports:
The US and Iraq should investigate claims of abuse contained in files published on the Wikileaks website, the UN's rights chief says.
Navi Pillay said the files suggested US forces had continued to hand detainees to Iraqi authorities despite evidence that they had been tortured.
Meanwhile, the UN's adviser on torture, Manfred Novak, called for a wider inquiry to include alleged US abuses. But don't expect to hear on NPR and certainly not from a whore and dick like Tom Gjelten.
Here's C.I.'s "Iraq snapshot:"
