I won't like Barack any better come Sunday. Some people are prickly, some people are pricks. Read this from On Media (Politico) and see which is Barack:
The president peppered his remarks during this afternoon’s press conference with subtle and not-so-subtle jabs at the press, pushing back against the “conventional wisdom” that put his apparent defeats “above the fold” but his victories “below the fold.”
And he vented more than a little frustration to the journalists in the room with the way the way he was painted as a bulldozer during the health care debate and now a pushover on tax cuts — making the “honeymoon” that many on the right accused him of getting from the media during his campaign seem like a distant memory. You figured it out, didn't you? [Answer: PRICK.] I went to Danny's site because I thought, "This is the night Danny leaves the Cult of St. Barack." Wrong. He's going off on Republicans and the Tea Party.
He does a sentence about Barack caving. Then he's off on the Tea Party and Republicans. He needs to buy a f**king clue. I'm getting damn mad here. If you missed Ava or C.I.'s point in "Book discussion" Sunday, their point was our left media ('independent') should have stopped obsessing over the right and documented what the White House was actually up to. They should have done it in real time. Roger Hodge's book documents it. Why weren't they documenting it when it was going down?
They let us down. They let themselves down. They need go on sabbatical, figure out what really matters to them, before they write another word. I'm sick of their excuses for Barack and I'm damn sick of the distractions of focusing on the Tea Party. Tea Party's not ordering drone strikes on Pakistan.
Here's C.I.'s "Iraq snapshot:"
