Raising Hope. Are you watching that show? Ava and C.I. love it and gave Martha Plimpton a rave for her performance on the show. If you've missed it, from now until Feb., you can watch all the episodes on Hulu for free. I'm not talking "Hulu Premium." Just the standard issue Hulu, go to the website and stream. Its' a very funny show. In fact, it's the best comedy Fox has had since That 70s Show ended production.
And on funny, comic.
That was Isaiah's year-in-review comic and C.I.'s got a list of all of them that I'm including in case you missed one:
Kat's "Kat's Korner: 2010 in music" Ruth's "Ruth's Radio Report: 2010," Isaiah's The World Today Just Nuts "2010: The Urkel Moment," "2010 in books (Martha & Shirley)," "2010: The Year of Enough," Marcia's "2010 in Page Turners" and Rebecca's "2010 in page turners" and Ann's "10 Best DVDs of 2010" and Stan's "10 Best DVDs of 2010" -- year in review pieces in the community. Also "Terry Gross' new low (Ann, Ava and C.I.)" which documents the fact that women made up only 18% of Terry Gross' guests on Fresh Air in 2010. In addition Kat got in one more review for 2010, "Kat's Korner: Mystic Melanie" -- Kat reviews Melanie's brand new album Ever Since You Never Heard of Me.
Third? They never miss a weekend. Here's who worked on it this weekend:
The Third Estate Sunday Review's Ava,
Rebecca of Sex and Politics and Screeds and Attitude,
Betty of Thomas Friedman Is a Great Man,
C.I. of The Common Ills and The Third Estate Sunday Review,
Kat of Kat's Korner (of The Common Ills),
Cedric of Cedric's Big Mix,
Mike of Mikey Likes It!,
Elaine of Like Maria Said Paz),
Ruth of Ruth's Report,
Wally of The Daily Jot,
Trina of Trina's Kitchen,
Marcia of SICKOFITRDLZ,
Stan of Oh Boy It Never Ends,
Isaiah of The World Today Just Nuts,
and Ann of Ann's Mega Dub.
and Dallas. Ava and C.I. steered the edition and we started way late. Kat was having trouble finishing her year-in-review piece. (That's not blaming her. C.I. told everyone it was going to be a bit and everybody in California ended up going out for some Mexican food with C.I. because it was really too much pressure on Kat. The ticking clock. I think we've all been there.)
But we started way late but finished early and I do think it had a nice variety to it.
If you've got time to watch Raising Hope from start to finish, that's the best but if you don't have time for all of them watch the one about getting the pictures taken ("Say Cheese") or "Happy Halloween." I think those are the two best.
Here's C.I.'s "Iraq snapshot:"
