Sunday, we wrote:
Confidence Men about the administration of Barack Obama which came out today.
An e-mail from a woman named Sarita congratulates us for not caving on the Anita Dunn remark. Anita Dunn gave a statement to Ron Suskind about how sexist the administration was. Dunn then denied it when it came into the news on Friday.
POLITIO has a number of articles on the book today like this one. And this one, which Sarita noted, explains Suskind has Dunn on tape making the remark she now denies.
Sarita, thanks for thanking us. But --
Rebecca wrote about this on Friday and she had talked to C.I. before she wrote it. Anita Dunn was insisting then she hadn't said what Suskind said she said. C.I. told Rebecca (I was in the room), "Ron Suskind's got it documented. He knows how quickly a source like that would buckle, especially with a quote like that. He can prove she said it, trust me."
Sarita also thanked us for noting the attacks on The Price of Loyalty and specifically David Gregory doing the Bush administration's bidding.
Again, thanks, but --
C.I. And, in fact, the Today show corrected Gregory's report the very next day because a number of people (including C.I.) complained to people with the show. That's why she remembered it.
But we knew Ron Suskind was telling the truth because Suskind documents and because C.I. knows his editor at whatever publishing house he's with.
Remember how in the article, we point out that Ava and C.I. noted, "Watching Charlie is to realize that you can say anything as a guest because there's no follow up on Charlie's part. The tight ass just can't 'wing it.' So although, for example, Panetta painted a picture of the administration which really left the impression that Barack is the Dead Beat President, the Absentee Leader, over-delegating and under-briefed, forever out of the loop, Charlie had no follow ups."
Suskind's book that's upsetting the White House and some members of the Cult of St. Barack shouldn't be surprising anyone.
Here's C.I.'s "Iraq snapshot:"
