And I'm so tired. :(
Like you wouldn't believe.
Glenn Thrush writes about a backlash against Barack among Catholics. I'm pro-choice. What happened for Barack was his making churches etc offer reproductive services in their health plans. This has outraged some.
And what the story misses is that ObamaCare outraged them to begin with.
It had an end-of-life counseling clause. Whether you consider it death panel or not, it goes against the Church for some people. For some, any end-of-life counseling you would require would be provided by a priest not a doctor. (A priest would be who you seek out for hard health decisions like pulling the plug on a relative.) (And the answer from the Church would be a strong NO.) So Barack's been steadily losing healthy portions of the Catholic vote on health issues for some time.
And the thing is, you can't just court them in an election year. After you lose them, you lose them. They don't trust you again.
And that's bad news for Barack in terms of the Latino vote because the above applies to Catholics of regardless of ethnic/race.
