Video below is of NBC reporter Richard Engel telling Chuck Todd, "I almost had to sit down" when he heard Barack saying Egypt was not an ally.
Engel says that for the last 40 years, the US has had 2 Arab allies: Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
It's amazing how Richard Engel, a real reporter, can react to that but everyone else plays dumb.
Richard Engel's right, Barack made a major screw up.
For the President to come out and say well, he's not exactly sure if Egypt is an ally any more but it's not an enemy? That is a significant change in the perspective of Washington toward this country -- the biggest country in the Arab world. It makes one wonder: "Well, was it worth it? Was it worth supporting the Arab Spring, supporting the demonstrations here in Tahrir Square, when now, in Tahrir Square, there are clashes going on behind me right in front of the US embassy?"
Good question. Again Richard Engel deserves applause for sticking to news. So many others were just idiots today.
