Journalist Nir Rosen has become the latest target of a right-wing feeding frenzy, losing his fellowship at NYU after tweeting a tasteless comment about the sexual assault of CBS reporter Lara Logan in Egypt. The usual suspects have moved in, led by Jeffrey Goldberg (who rather disingenuously pretended not even to know who Rosen was).Tasteless? The comment reflected the mind set of someone who sexually assaults. The usual suspects? First off, Dumb Ass, Jeffrey Godlber is not "right wing." He is of the left. He's center-left but he's of the left. Sorry if political shading is too difficult for you but I'm not surprised since you're such a Dumb Ass.
People are outraged by this and they should be. But Nir's little buddy Danny Luben needs to rush in and lie, spin and divert.
He's an idiot. Danny Luben is an idiot.
Nir Rosen argued that Lara Logan deserved to be sexually assaulted. Do you not get how wrong that is? Do you not get that it's that sort of thinking that allows rape?
Danny Luben needs to apologize and Jim Lobe needs to issue a statement because Luben's crap appeared at Jim Lobe's website.
If you're a guy, I think it's important you speak up. We shouldn't make the women carry the weight on this issue and have to fight this battle. It is disgusting and it needs to be called out. Tom Scocca has an important piece on this at Slate. (And I'm sure Danny Luben will claim that this is as a 'right wing' article as well.)
