Big fan of the Mamas and the Papas here. Grew up listening to them. We now know that John Phillips was garbage. We know that because of how he treated Michelle Phillips -- I'm referring to firing her, tormenting her and all the rest while they were married. I'm also referring to him stripping her name off "California Dreamin'" in the late 80s. She's the best part of that song, she's the one who wrote "Stopped into a church and I pretend to pray, You know the preacher loves the cold, he knows I'm going to stay . . ." That's what makes the song.
So later learning that he raped his daughter Mackenzie Phillips (daughter from first wife, Michelle was the second of four wives he'd have) in the 80s really didn't shock me. I knew he was garbage long before that revelation.
It also didn't make me hate the group. I loved Michelle and her clear soprano and the six or so songs she co-wrote for the group. I loved Denny who was an amazing singer. I loved Cass Elliot because who doesn't love Cass? Even as a little kid looking at the album covers, I loved Cass. I loved her voice, I loved her smile.
And I love the band and always will.
Wilson Phillips? I had liked them. Had. I still have no problem with Wendy and her sister Carnie Wilson. But Chynna Phillips. Ever since she thought she was speaking for God, she turned me off. I'm a Catholic and I don't waste everybody's time trying to prove what a great person I am because of it. But I guess when you were famous once and your ego destroyed your successful music group and you don't have the acting chops of your mother and you're just a boring person no one cares about anymore, you have to brag about something.
Hence Chynna Phillips' YOUTUBE show. Today, Chynna chose -- in Christian love, you understand -- to platform hate merchant Victoria Jackson. There was no reason to do that and I'm over Chynna and plan to never listen to Wilson Phillips again.

And, no, I'm not reposting it. So they won't allow Rebecca's comment to go up. She noted that she never expected Chynna to be a homophobe but here she is platforming Victoria Jackson and making nice with her. Again, by the way, not the firs time.
If you don't know the slut Victoria Jackson, consider yourself lucky. She was the worst member of SNL ever. That's why they don't invite her back. She had no talent and played a breasty slut in every skit because she thought that was comedy.
Today, she lies that she's a Christian.

That is who 'Christian' Chynna chooses to promote. F**K YOU AND KISS MY BLACK ASS.
I'm so sick of these fake asses. Chynna has no soul clearly -- I'd argue that should have been obvious just from listening to her sing.
But F**K YOU, Chynna and F**K your husband too. You can both go to hell, you crazy ass homophobe.

Turns out Chynna will be on stage with Wilson Phillips on Oct. 23rd at Thunder Valley Casino and Resort. Boycott them. I doubt the Wilson sisters -- Carnie and Wendy -- are homophobes but a message needs to be sent as a war on LGBTQ+ people is carried out in this country: Homophobia is not acceptable. And it's not Christian. As someone raised in the church -- the Black church -- I think I know a great deal more about Christ than White Karen Chynna who discovered Jesus only after she was a do-nothing house wife who needed to do something for media attention.
